GRP Sectional Tanks

Sectional tanks are built from modular panels bolted together on site. Because the panels can be carried through ordinary doorways, stairwells and roof hatches, a sectional tank can be installed almost anywhere, even in plant rooms and roof voids where a one-piece tank would never fit. That makes them ideal for replacing old tanks in existing buildings.

One-Piece and Two-Piece Tanks

For smaller capacities, or where access allows, one-piece and two-piece GRP tanks are a quick and cost-effective option. We’ll recommend the right type after surveying the site, based on the space, access, required capacity and how the building uses its water.

GRP Tank Replacement

Many commercial buildings still rely on galvanised steel tanks or early GRP tanks that are now corroded, leaking, poorly insulated or oversized. Replacing them with a correctly sized GRP sectional tank improves water quality, helps with Legionella control and brings the installation up to current water regulations. Our replacement service includes:

1. Survey – an experienced, certified engineer assesses the existing tank, access, supports and pipework, and you receive a detailed quotation with a risk assessment, method statement and estimated timescale of works.
2. Temporary supply – where needed, a mains bypass or temporary tank keeps the building supplied throughout.
3. Removal and disposal – the old steel or GRP tank is dismantled, removed and disposed of responsibly.
4. Installation – the new tank is assembled and installed with new valves and pipework, cross flow arrangement, screened vents and overflow, and insulation.
5. Chlorination and handover – the tank and pipework are chlorinated before the system goes back into service.

GRP Tank Repairs
